India has always held an allure for photographers: it’s a destination synonymous with colour, history, heritage, vibrance and life. If you have been dreaming about visiting India and are looking for a fully-escorted photography experience, then this tour is the perfect introduction to everything that makes India incredible: her people, monuments, cities, villages and beautiful culture.
This tour is designed for photographers who want the big-ticket images, but who also yearn for more authentic, off-the-tourist-trail photographic experiences. It includes grand moments and poignant moments of connection and humanity.
On this tour, you will enjoy the company and support of a professional photography teacher, and an experienced guide to all things India. This isn’t a photo tour where you are left to shoot on your own; guidance is offered to make sure you’re capturing the best images you can.
You’ll be supported in your photography by Seng Mah, who has been teaching photography for 17 years and has visited India 12 times. Seng will share tips and techniques for capturing scenes, finding light, and engaging with locals.
Atik Ahmed is local to Rajasthan and has local contacts in many places, giving this tour unprecedented levels of access unavailable to others.
A highlight of this tour is the carefully selected historical havelis, palaces and forts that are still home to local Royalty. These residences offer history, character, comfort and a special boutique experience.
Indian cuisine reflects the influences of the country’s history, tradition and flavour. Less-spicy options, including Western-based dishes, are available for guests who prefer less spicy food.
On arrival at Delhi International Airport, you’ll be met by Seng and Atik. Travel by luxury coach to Agra, home of the Taj Mahal. After check-in and rest, visit Mehtab Bagh, the Garden of the Moon, for sunset views of the Taj Mahal across the Yamuna River.
Enter the Taj Mahal before sunrise to capture its majesty without crowds. Photograph the reflective pool, marble architecture and surrounding gardens before travelling to Jaipur. At sunset, photograph Jal Mahal, the Water Palace, reflected on Man Sagar Lake.

Capture Sardar Market, Brahmapuri’s blue-washed lanes, Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, Toorji ka Jhalra stepwell and a private high-energy gypsy dance performance at a historic palatial residence.
Spend time with Rabari families, known for their red turbans, impressive mustaches and pastoral traditions. Visit Ranakpur Jain Temple, one of India’s grandest white marble temples, surrounded by forests.
Drive through forested ridges to Udaipur. Stay in a lakeside haveli and explore the streets, ghats and promenades. Sunset shoot of City Palace and Taj Lake Palace on Lake Pichola.
Visit Udaipur’s largest wholesale vegetable market for candid captures of vendors, produce, colour and movement. Later, fly from Udaipur to Delhi.
Photograph Yamuna Ghat at sunrise, visit a traditional Akhara for environmental portraiture, then explore Humayun’s Tomb for architecture, light, gardens and human-scale compositions.
Begin at Jama Masjid, India’s iconic mosque, then walk the streets of Old Delhi near the mosque, photographing barbers, tuktuk drivers, food stalls and morning street life. Return for late breakfast before departure.
Our small group made a very up close and personal trip into beautiful Rajasthan and its warm, generous and soulful people. The rural village parts made the trip intimate and authentic.
The tour was the most exciting, rewarding and transformative photographic, travel and life experience I’ve ever had. The photographic opportunities were endless and amazing.
India was a sensory overload in the best way — colours, sights, people, sounds and smells. The laneways and time with locals were what I loved the most.
